Davidson Plum Sour Cocktail Recipe

This Davidson Plum Sour is a fresh twist on a classic. It’s tart, vibrant, and a bit unexpected — just like the Davidson Plum itself. With a deep berry hue and a tangy finish, this cocktail is made for those who like something a little different.

Ingredients
- 60ml gin, vodka, or bourbon
- 30ml fresh lemon juice
- 20ml simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
- ½ tsp Davidson Plum Powder
- 1 egg white (or aquafaba if you prefer it vegan)
- Ice
- Optional: garnish with a dusting of Davidson Plum powder or edible flowers
Method
- Shake without ice (called a dry shake): Add everything to a shaker and shake hard for 10–15 seconds. This helps get a nice frothy top from the egg white.
- Add ice and shake again: Now toss in a few ice cubes and shake again until it’s cold.
- Strain and pour: Strain into a chilled coupe or rocks glass.
- Garnish (if you like): Sprinkle a little Davidson Plum powder on top, or add something pretty like a dried flower.
Why it Works
Davidson Plum is naturally tart, so it balances out the sweetness of the syrup and the richness of the egg white. Plus, the colour is unreal — a deep, rich pink that looks as good as it tastes.
